Whether you believe it or not, there is much that can be said about the way a simple TV set can be used to influence the actions we take on a day-to-day basis and how it is used to create many of our belief systems, which’re, too often, formed through the subliminal persuasions inserted into the programmed channels we lazily accept as conscious choice and why, that TV set has become a very dangerous piece of kit.
We sit there night after night flicking through the channels, not decisively choosing what we want to watch but instead, choosing from a series of multiple choices as we allow ourselves to be influenced by dictates that have nothing to do with our best interests, pointlessly wasting what precious time we have that could instead be spent living lives of our own.
We’re drawn to relationship dramas that endlessly depict yet another break up but cannot figure out why our own relationships are in a state of complete disrepair, we watch depictions of homes that measure nothing but disorder yet we still cannot see that our own homes are but a simple reflection and’re unable to figure out that our world as a whole is falling apart at the seams.
It’s as if we have lost the ability to think for ourselves and are unable to think outside of that box, it’s why we have lost both our sense of self and our sense of community, we’ve pretty much forfeited all form of conscious choosing and have allowed the collective consciousness that is humanity to be hacked by the very system we voted in to protect our way of life.
Through this whole process we’ve lost much of our autonomy through conscious dereliction which, in turn, leads to a dereliction of community. We fail to see that if we are to stand any chance of reclaiming our autonomy as a species, we need to understand that we have been and are continually being played, as a pack of fools aboard a sinking ship and only through that understanding will we give ourselves a second chance and a life of our choosing.
Freedom from within,
The Journeyman.
